Got a last minute call that they were in town and wanted to fish. It worked out and they were able to enjoy the afternoon bite. Bounced around the bay with the wind blowing out of the ESE pretty good. They were happy as can be catching their first reds on the spoon. Also some nice trout as well. Super nice couple!

Got Russ out last year in March winds but we still managed to catch red fish and trout. We started mid afternoon had a rain cloud come through and the wind fell out. The red fish and trout were fired up on the one knocker spook. Here’s a double up shot of a nice red and trout.

Mike and his dad wanted to get out kayak fishing again on Mike /myself’s b-day. Last year we had really strong winds up to 30 knots but the reds were stacked on one shoreline. This year the reds were a little more spread out but they caught some quality over slot reds also take home reds. Much better weather this trip slick calm conditions and were eating the spoon good when they were there!

We met at noon because of a weak tide in the morning. Shortly after they were catching trout and seeing red fish. Checked a another flat and catching some slot and over slot reds.

They had a couple slot reds and trout to take home. Spoke at the Fishin Mission group talked about fishing!

The reds were a little skittish today with the blue bird skies. Long casts with the spoon were getting them today. Slot and over slot reds with a few trailing each fish that were caught.

Ed had his grandson Connor in town and really wanted to get him on some fish while he was here. He had a fear of heights so I came over to Fort Desoto. Got them on some big trout,lady fish and Bonnet head shark in ESE 30 knot winds. Connor was so excited especially with the bonnet head!

We launched the kayaks mid day made a brief paddle and started catching redfish,trout,also a snook.

Started off the trip with a couple nice trout and then a gator on the one knocker spook.

Bounced around catching more slot reds and trout and finished with a couple big reds on top water at sundown.

Interesting day of tournament fishing got beat to the first school of fish by minutes. They caught 2 of the right fish in minutes. Then the live baiters came in and they would not eat lures. Bounced around and were able to catch some slot and over slot reds. We ended up with 9th place.
