Flats fishing the Fort De-Soto area with Dalton and his parents for his b-day.
I had Dalton his mom Tammy and his dad Brian meet me at Oneils marina just after sunrise. We shortly were on red fish but they were extremely sketchy in the super shallow water today. I was having them cast a variety of different lures at hundreds of reds and they just did not want to eat today. The slick calm conditions and the full moon had the red fish acting funny. I staked out on a point where schools of reds were crushing to a pothole and oyster bar. I even resorted to casting live shrimp also cut pin fish into the pothole watching a school of 100 plus return to the pothole 5 times!

After seeing that I relocated to another area eventually getting a good slot red for Dalton. His dad snagged a couple good pictures.

Some days you have to work at it a little more..
